Pouya P. Niaz is a Ph.D. Computer Science student at the Intelligent and Interactive Systems (IIS) group, at the University of Innsbruck. He obtained his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Koç University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 2022.

His current research focuses on achieving efficient task planning in contact-rich robotic tasks using symbolic abstractions of kinematic and kinetic constraints, by detecting or learning inter-object affordances between various objects.
